NCLAT has stayed the order passed by the CCI upon a condition of pre-deposit of 10% of the penalty amount imposed on the company. The company has to comply with the directions and the amount will be deposited through a fixed deposit receipt within stipulated time as mentioned in the order.

In September, the CCI had imposed a penalty on United Breweries, Carlsberg India, All India Brewers' Association (AIBA) and 11 individuals after nearly four years of probe for alleged cartelization and anti-competitive practices.
