India-Chile starts discussion on comprehensive trade deal

India and Chile have agreed to initiate negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to enhance bilateral economic ties. This decision follows discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chilean President Gabriel Boric during the latter's state visit to India. The proposed pact aims to expand upon the existing Preferential Trade Agreement, fostering increased trade and investment between the two nations. Both emphasized collaboration in sectors like critical minerals, digital public infrastructure, renewable energy, railways, space, etc.
